meet the team

  • After completing part of my education at an eating disorder clinic in Hawaii, I found myself drawn to working alongside clients struggling with eating disorders, negative body image, and “food feeling hard” in some capacity. While working with these women, I recognized some recurrent traits and themes amongst this population- they were intelligent, perceptive, and most of our conversations had undertones of not- enoughness,  a disconnect from true self, and a longing to live an authentic life full of meaning.

Untangling the connection between appearance/food from one's innate value has allowed me to see ‘food struggles’ from another perspective - The body is a profound source of wisdom, offering clear and precise insights into our inner world. When we cultivate the capacity to listen deeply (without letting judgment cloud our perception), this connection can become a path of transformation and self-understanding. My hope is that together, there can be more ease and joy around eating.

I specialize in working with imbalanced or elevated blood sugar, cardiovascular & anti-inflammatory nutrition, and metabolic health. I particularly enjoy working with clients that struggle with emotional eating and are open to exploring the deeper relationship between their sense of self and their connection to food and appearance. My approach often incorporates (optional) assignments intended for reflection, lots of analogies, somatic informed techniques, and nature-based practices. Some of my own teachers that have shaped the lens I work from include Pema Chödrön, Rupert Spira, Rumi, Gabor Mate, Ram Dass, and Don Miguel Ruiz.

Outside of client sessions, you can find me starting art projects  that never get finished, listening to Little Dragon, or reading 8 books at once (also that don’t get finished).  I enjoy walking along the French Broad river with a cup of cold brew on Sunday mornings, pilates, and hiking to waterfalls with minimal elevation. One of my favorite things to do is watch reality TV with my anxious, pisces-pup, Koa.

  • I specialize in working with those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, chronic dieting, and weight & body image concerns. I’m experienced in working with ADHD and those wanting to understand and optimize hormonal health. I’m passionate about incorporating somatic techniques and integrating functional nutrition & ecotherapy into nutrition counseling.

I strive to help others recognize and appreciate their worth, regardless of what your thoughts, feelings, or behaviors might be. My hope is to guide clients in understanding themselves and their relationship with food in an honest way. Through self-exploration and self-compassion, making change is possible.

I always meet my clients where they are at in their journey and incorporate individual values into the work. I strongly believe that you know what is best for you even if this truth feels inaccessible. I love growing alongside my clients and witnessing them rekindle connection to self & find their truth!

A little bit about me outside of work: on the weekdays and evenings, I'm most likely walking my dog (this is such sacred time for me), watching TV with my animals (my faves of all time are Parks & Rec, Broad City, & Alone), journaling, playing video games (Stardew Valley is my jam), or working on home projects. On the weekends you can find me hiking or trail running with my dog, playing games with friends, hanging out by the river, or napping in the sun with a good podcast or audiobook (I can’t finish a book to save my life).

  • I’m Katelyn Leahy, a registered dietitian with over five years of experience supporting people who feel stuck in cycles of chronic dieting, blood sugar dysregulation, weight concerns, and complicated relationships with food. My work is grounded in the belief that nutrition is not just about information, it’s about understanding the why behind behaviors and creating space for sustainable, compassionate change.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked extensively in nutrition education, Type II diabetes care, post-bariatric support, binge-eating disorder, disordered eating patterns, and general wellness. I take a non-diet, biochemistry-informed approach, helping clients untangle diet culture narratives while reconnecting with their body’s internal cues. While I’m not currently working with restrictive eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, ARFID, or binge–purge behaviors, I’m deeply experienced in supporting those navigating food guilt, emotional eating, chronic dieting, and long-standing weight concerns.

My approach is collaborative and judgment-free. I believe you are the expert on your body, even if that trust feels hard to access right now. Sessions often focus on understanding motivation, identifying patterns without shame, and building change through realistic, additive steps rather than rigid rules. Progress is rarely linear: motivation ebbs and flows, and even small shifts matter. Baby steps are still steps forward.

From a functional and clinical lens, I conduct thorough initial assessments that may include reviewing lab work, health history, and lifestyle factors to develop an individualized nutrition plan that aligns with your goals and capacity. I value curiosity over perfection and work with you to create strategies that feel both supportive and practical in real life.

Outside of sessions, you can find me hiking, practicing yoga or strength training, reading, and sipping tea, often all in the same week.
